good breakfast, fast service.weather was cold when i arrived so had heating on, room was very warm in the evening.good location, plenty bus services.
booked single room, number 9, tiny, in the basement. no noise could be heard from the street but could hear noise upstairs, footsteps, doors closing
I loved the big double bed I slept in, the power shower was awesome. The hotel staff were very friendly, the cooked breakfast was very nice as well as were all the other elements of breakfast that were on show. Overall the hotel and everything with it was brilliant. I would definately stay at the hotel again in the future as Edinburgh is such a great city to visit.
Located beside the Botanic Gardens, Stockbridge and the Water of Leith, this was a lovely part of Edinburgh in which to stay. The hotel staff were professional and courteous, and there was always a pleasant atmosphere. We were delighted to be offered an upgrade, and this added to a special 40th birthday visit to Edinburgh. A lovely treat, and a memorable stay in a grand four-poster bed!
friendly staff and good service, shower is very nice
room space is tight
We loved our stay at the Inverleith. We were upgraded to one of their 4-poster suites, and it was really nice - comfortable and spacious. The young man on the front desk was very courteous and breakfast was lovely. Parking was on the street opposite - its free from about 5pm or so through to 8am the next morning - you can feed the meter the night before though so you dont have to leap out of bed early in the morning. We loved being close enough to the City Center but also the Botanical gardens and the Loon Fung restaurant round the corner was excellent. Overall a fabulous nights stay.
Excellent apartment - large and well equiped, clean and comfortable.
Welcoming, polite staff. Business-like approach. Great, tasteful presentation, e.g. bar and dining room.
The room I had was slightly tired (carpets, decorations) and the en-suite was cramped. However, it was still excellent value for money!
The rooms were small and dated.the staff were reasonably present. The breakfast was nice in a nice dining room. Place is ok for one of two nights but not for longer stays. There is a ditrect busd route to town centre and hotel is near botanical gardens.
We found it a fairly easy ten minute walk into the centre. Previous reviews said it took longer and that it was probably better to take a bus but we didn't find this at all! Room clean, breakfast very nice!
If i was staying for longer than two nights i'd book a standard double rather than the small double room. We asked for a taxi to be booked for early in the morning (7am) on our day of departure. We were told this wasn't a problem, they would arrange it and that a small breakfast pack up would be left out for us. When we came downstairs no pack up was there and, after waiting fifteen minutes, no taxi came. Luckily we managed to hail one from the end of the road and made it to the airport on time, but a stress that we could've done without after such a good weekend!
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. We had stayed at this hotel before and would be happy staying there again.
location at the Botanical Gardens, friendly attentive staff
small awkward bathroom, in which all the surfaces tilted slightly
Staff were lovely.
Not a bad thing but it is easier to catch a bus to Prince St.
bathroom very cramped, bar closing early
The single rom was small and dark and it felt like being a servant below stairs. No natural light could get into the room. Didnt; even realise that it was a nice day outside. I agree with the comment that it is not a hotel but a guesthouse charging hotel prices, Also I had wanted to cancel but was told it was within the Fireworks season but they did not start until the night I left.
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere at the Inverleith. Great location for all the attractions of Edinburgh & Leith. Good breakfast.
Having booked back in January (& paid 1 night as a deposit), I was very suprised when without any forewarning the other 2 nights fee was taken a month BEFORE my stay! If my Credit Card had been near its limit, I could have gone into debit & incurred extra fees.
